He stands alone, unsmiling, his eyes hidden behind dark sunglasses. He wears simple clothing — T-shirts, jeans and other everyday staples. He never speaks, but he holds up large pieces of cardboard on which he’s written in marker everything that he needs to say.

More recently, as the world’s social media style influencers have been forced to stay indoors amid the spread of COVID-19 along with the rest of us, he wrote, “Stop posting your home workouts.”
